        Roero Park

Introduction

The Roero park is one realization of Green Roero, the consortium born in 1988. On this area, located inside of the zone of Shack of the wizard, has been concentrated the attention of the Consortium, whose first objective is to recover and preserving the more typical atmosphere of the forest of the Roero.

The reforestation has begun since the first years with the putting to dwelling of beyond 100.000 piantine.

The play area

Located in the next field of the northeast and the access from Sommariva Perno and Pocapaglia, it recreates atmosphere of Far-West. Using adapted structures made of wood, the "pellerossa" are fighting (with totem, stretch, etc.) so are the pioneers with their wagon, under the alert protection of the blockhouse.

The sport route

It is developed on a tracing of approximately 1800 meters, subdivided in 16 stages. It's gained in the field of the on-west in a much evocative atmosphere for the richest presence of characteristic flowers of the underbrush. On the distance there are scatters tools, rings, etc...

The pause points

They have been created in various points of the park: it's equipped of tables and benches, arranged with fontanel, drinkable water and secure fire-points

The didactic garden

In this area, of approximately 3000 meters squared, are concentrated, with didactic purposes, the species forest presents in the park: here you can meet the roverella, rovere, the farnia, the carpino, the alder, the ciliegio wild, the chestnut tree, the birch, the black poplar, chiavardello and the juniper. The faggio, the frassino, the maple tree, the platano, the elm tree and the maggiociondolo are moreover visible.

The lake of the Ginestre

Characteristic and typical habitat, constitutes the heart of the park. Existing since the post-war period, when it constituted an important water reserve, it is today the essential element of the ecosystem where both the flora and fauna coexist.

The name derives from the bushes of the ginestra tree, scattered on the northern slope place.

On the rivers exemplary of the flora are found, with the unforgetable "Mace sorda" (Typha latifolia). Here is located one of the most important callback for the swampy avifauna (airone, cenerino, germano, gallinella of water) moreover you can meet also animals like poiana, gheppio and a lots of birds.

Between the mammals that attend the area, you can even see the vixen and the wild boar.
